About the Role

CN is seeking a skilled Signal Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Signals and Communication Design group, you will be responsible for designing and modifying signal circuits for railway Centralized Traffic Control (CTC), wayside signal systems, and highway-railway grade crossing warning systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and modify signal circuits for CTC, wayside signal systems, and highway-railway grade crossing warning systems
  • Ensure designs meet government regulations, American Railway Engineering and Maintenance of Way Association (AREMA) standards, and CN's Signals and Communication standards
  • Coordinate with wiring vendors and S&C Material Coordinators to ensure approved work orders are converted to Purchase Orders (POs)
  • Provide field and technical support to install and maintain crossing warning systems functions within the railway
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in any electrical discipline
  • Between 1 to 3 years of experience in signal design, estimating, and project management
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, CAD software, and Bentley MicroStation CONNECT Edition
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Computer, Electrical, Electronic, Systems Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent
