Associate Director WIC Program

As an Associate Director WIC Program at The Institute for Family Health, you will play a vital role in the Federal Special Supplemental Food Program for Women, Infants and Children (WIC).
Under the supervision of the WIC Director, Associate Director or the Practice administrator, you will perform a variety of professional duties for participants of the WIC program. This includes guiding participants through counseling methods, practices and procedures, applicable government regulations, the policies and procedures of the NYSDOH WIC Program and the Institute for Family Health.
You will use the NYSDOH NYWIC computer system to process participants and information, and be cognizant of the philosophy, standards, objectives and policies of the WIC Program and the Organization. Additionally, you will have a thorough knowledge of the community and public health facilities so as to refer participants as needed.
Assists the WIC Director and/or Associate Director with related departmental duties, and works directly with the breastfeeding advocates and coordinate breastfeeding appointments.
Requirements
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and to deal calmly with individuals under stress
• Multi-lingual preferred
• Demonstrated computer skills including typing, Microsoft word, Excel, Power Point
• Good writing and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal skills
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Dietetics Food and nutrition which meets ADA minimum requirements (RD)
• Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN)
• Demonstrate computer skills including typing, Microsoft words, Excel, Power Point
• The ability to work with a variety of backgrounds
