About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Water Treatment Plant Operator I/II to join our team at the City of Chandler, AZ. As a key member of our Public Works & Utilities Department, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining our water treatment plant, ensuring the delivery of high-quality water to our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain water treatment plant equipment, including pumps, valves, and chemical feed systems.
  • Monitor and control water quality parameters, including pH, turbidity, and disinfection byproducts.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and lubricating equipment, and replacing worn or damaged parts.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth plant operations and resolve any issues that may arise.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices.
Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or equivalent, and 1-2 years of experience in water treatment plant operation and maintenance, or a related field.
  • A valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
  • ADEQ Grade 1-3 Water Treatment Certification, or equivalent.
  • Ability to pass respirator fit testing and 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification.
