About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plumbing Journeyman II to join our team at Tempe Mechanical. As a key member of our commercial plumbing team, you will be responsible for performing skilled plumbing work in various commercial and industrial settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Examine specifications, architectural blueprints, and shop drawings to determine necessary tools and equipment and the proper sequence for installation.
  • Adhere to specified hanger spacing and load requirements in accordance with specifications and owner preferences.
  • Mount and repair various plumbing fixtures, including sinks, toilets, bathtubs, urinals, water heaters, water softeners, and more.
  • Set up sleeves and leave outs for roof and wall penetrations.
  • Cut, expand, and solder copper tubing/piping, braze, solvent weld, fuse, groove, and thread pipes using pipe cutters, reamers, torches, alloy gaskets, solvent cements, fusion machines, press fittings, grooving machines, and pipe-threading machines.
  • Assemble and install valves, pipes, and fittings.
  • Connect pipes using mechanical soldering, brazing, and other pipe joining techniques.
  • Pressurize pipe systems with water or air and read gauges to detect any system leaks.
  • Assist with layout and train apprentice plumbers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Plumbing Journeyman in the commercial sector.
  • Proficiency in working with copper, PVC, and other plastics.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Positive attitude.
  • Punctual and dependable.
