Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Neuropsychologist to join our team at Stony Brook University. As a Postdoctoral Neuropsychologist, you will provide clinical consultations and evaluations of adult and pediatric patients with neurological and neurodevelopmental disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer, score, and interpret neuropsychological assessment measures under supervision.
  • Write reports based on neuropsychological assessments under supervision.
  • Conduct interviews and consultations with patients and families under supervision.
  • Participate in psychotherapy and/or family support groups related to neurological and neuropsychiatric disorders.
  • Contribute to departmentally based research programs.
  • Supervise graduate students in psychology.
  • Participate in professional advocacy activities.
Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Psychology from a program accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA).
  • OR current predoctoral intern in psychology internship accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) and letter from the training director of the home program that documents the applicant's completion of all degree requirements by the fellowship start date.
  • Extensive experience in the administration, scoring, and interpretation of neuropsychological measures, principally with children/adolescents but also with adults.
  • Extensive experience in clinical interviewing of children, adolescents, parents, and individual adults.
  • Preliminary experience in neuropsychological report writing.
  • Eligibility for Psychology Limited Permit in New York State.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Extensive experience in neuropsychological report writing.
  • Relevant coursework in neuroanatomy, neuropsychology, psychometric theory, statistics.
  • Demonstration of scholarship in neuropsychology equivalent to level of study, i.e., early career research.
  • Experience in supervised psychotherapy.
  • Experience with consultation liaison and team-focused work in a medical and/or psychiatric setting.
  • Both inpatient and outpatient clinical experience.
