Job Overview

The Team Leader, Bloomingdale's Sales Team (BST) serves as an energetic and engaged resource at the forefront of both colleague and customer experiences.

The primary goal of the BST is to enhance sales and ensure operational excellence by assisting the Store Manager and Store Leader in fostering a customer-focused environment.

The BST leads the Bloomingdale's Sales Team by training, mentoring, and developing colleagues.

Proficient in all aspects of the sales and service culture, the BST also handles operational tasks, including merchandise processing, placement, pricing accuracy, and safeguarding company assets.

The BST must be capable of supporting Sales, Service, Merchandising, and Asset Protection functions as required, demonstrating adaptability based on business needs.

With a collaborative approach, the BST aims to create an engaging work atmosphere for the team and a seamless, enjoyable shopping experience for our customers.

Essential Functions
Assumes supervisory responsibilities for the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager or Store Leader.

Drives and surpasses objectives by observing, coaching, and exemplifying behaviors that foster a welcoming shopping environment for all customers.

Ensures team members engage with customers, creating a friendly and accessible shopping atmosphere.
Trains and mentors colleagues on all necessary behaviors, processes, and job responsibilities.

Delivers an exceptional shopping experience by leading their work areas; assisting customers and actively participating in customer interactions to ensure a consistently elevated level of service; encourages appropriate service and sales behaviors.

Collaborates with Store Leaders to guarantee an outstanding customer experience and the execution of operational tasks, including maintaining high visual and merchandising standards throughout the store.

Plans and oversees the execution of tasks related to their area of responsibility.
Demonstrates adequate product knowledge and communicates sales and promotions to the team.
Provides coaching to colleagues, offering feedback and guidance when necessary.
Assists with onboarding new hires and managing colleague performance.
Monitors schedules, making adjustments for PTO or other emergencies.
Fosters a strong business partnership with the store leadership team, trade area, and Central partners as needed.
Embraces and champions the use of technology to support a seamless customer experience.
Safeguards company assets by adhering to all operational and cash office procedures.
Qualifications and Competencies
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
3-5 years of relevant experience.
Strong interpersonal skills with a proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
Resourceful and adaptable to changing priorities.
Self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team, able to adjust to shifting priorities.
Frequent use of computers - proficient in navigating multiple technological devices.
Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Essential Physical Requirements

Frequent use of computers and other technology necessary for job functions, including handheld devices, cash registers, and processing transactions.

Position requires prolonged periods of standing and walking throughout the store or department.
May involve reaching, crouching, kneeling, stooping, color vision, and climbing ladders.
Frequently lift/move up to 25 lbs.
