Houston, Texas, United States Tait North America Full time
Job Overview

The Lead Solutions Architect position is designed to deliver essential technical engineering support to Business Development Managers (BDMs) across North America. This role serves as the key pre-sales technical liaison between clients and Tait North America, ensuring that clients view Tait as a responsive, innovative, and professional organization.

The Lead Solutions Architect will act as the technical design authority for Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and bid submissions. This responsibility includes addressing both standard and complex product quotations and system designs, while integrating Tait products with those of third-party partners. Furthermore, this role encompasses customer education and training on business development opportunities.

Qualified leads will be provided by other members of the Tait organization, typically from regional BDMs through the opportunity management process. The Lead Solutions Architect will manage all phases of transforming system sale opportunities into confirmed orders, including opportunity scoping, pre-sales activities, collaboration with the sales engineering team for technical and commercial feasibility assessments, coverage analysis, preliminary system design, proposal documentation preparation, and assisting BDMs with proposal presentations.

Moderate travel is anticipated as part of this role.

  • Assess pre-sales inquiries to determine the suitability of Tait products for customer needs.
  • Identify potential sales opportunities and inform BDMs and dealers for follow-up.
  • Document customer requirements for projects advancing to the sale stage, including:
    • A project description with a customer needs statement.
    • A specification of requirements, including equipment configuration and order copies.
    • A project timeline with key milestones and deliverables.
    • Key project team members and their contact information.
  • Take ownership of assigned opportunities, utilizing personal effort to develop them until an order is secured.
  • Provide assistance with post-sales support as necessary to the implementation team.
  • Offer technical support to existing clients experiencing issues with Tait products.
  • Familiarize oneself with the technical capabilities of competitor products and recommend necessary changes to maintain Tait's competitive edge.

  • Instill confidence in clients regarding Tait's technical expertise and responsiveness.
Performance Metrics
  • All system designs align with defined customer and contractual requirements.
  • All designs undergo thorough feasibility and suitability checks.
  • Clients are satisfied with the assistance provided for all inquiries and understand the potential limitations of proposed solutions.
  • System build and test documentation facilitate project implementation with minimal revisions.
  • System designs are feasible from both timing and cost perspectives.
Technical Leadership
  • Mentor team members to foster broad cross-functional skills.
  • Ensure compliance with the company's legal obligations (e.g., Health and Safety, Human Rights, Compliance).
