The Systems Engineering Specialist II will join a dedicated team focused on the development of innovative solutions for the healthcare, dental, and veterinary sectors. Operating under general oversight, this position will apply a structured systems engineering methodology to fulfill both client and organizational requirements. The role will be pivotal in effectively translating needs into system specifications, designing interfaces, identifying design deficiencies, and facilitating resolutions among a diverse array of project stakeholders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gather and confirm stakeholder requirements.
- Develop and support the team in crafting well-defined system specifications that include clear acceptance criteria.
- Utilize analytical methods to aid the architectural design process and evaluate the feasibility of various concepts.
- Contribute to systems modeling initiatives, leading straightforward modeling tasks including textual modeling.
- Assist in technology strategy planning to deliver necessary capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues, drive enhancements, and take responsibility for technical solutions and their results.
- Help identify and assess risks, contributing to risk management strategies.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. Make informed decisions within assigned projects and take responsibility for the outcomes.
- Engage in moderately complex projects, generate alternatives, and conduct testing.
- Broaden problem definitions, integrate new insights and diverse perspectives, and select optimal solutions based on evidence.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
- Negotiate and resolve conflicting requirements.
- Develop more intricate system models with guidance.
- Identify capability issues from the broader system that may impact the design of the system of interest.
- Facilitate the creation and management of controls for specific interfaces.
- Draft integration plans for particular elements of a system under supervision.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline, along with 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. INCOSE ASEP certification or the ability to obtain certification within two years of employment.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Ability to generate alternatives and take calculated risks to resolve technical challenges.
- Effective communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Capability to take ownership of technical solutions and their outcomes.
- Pursues a green belt in Design for Six Sigma.
SUPERVISORY ROLE:
- Mentors co-op and engineer I team members, focusing on enhancing technical skills and cultural competencies.
