Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Central Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at UPMC Presbyterian. This is a full-time position with night hours between 10pm and 6:30am, as well as weekend and holiday hours. The successful candidate will be responsible for working between Presbyterian and Montefiore.

Responsibilities
  • Decontaminate and sterilize reusable surgical instruments and equipment according to established procedures.
  • Prepare and assemble surgical trays and equipment for issue, storage, or further processing.
  • Monitor and maintain sterilization equipment, including reading and interpreting parameters.
  • Assess supplies required for surgical procedures and set up case carts.
  • Participate in performance improvement activities and develop skills through educational programs.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; currently enrolled in an Accredited Surgical Technician/Sterile Processing Program preferred.
  • 1 year of experience within UPMC or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution or Certified Registered Central Service Technician or International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management certification required for PA and NY facilities.
