Job Description

Job Title: Director of Dining Services

Job Summary:

The Director of Dining Services is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day food service operations, managing a team of employees, and maintaining excellent relationships with clients. Key responsibilities include overseeing P&L and budgeting, maintaining client relationships, working with the chef and management team to create nutritious and high-quality food, implementing new culinary programs, and acting as a liaison between the company, client, and community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all P&L and budgeting as it pertains to the account
  • Maintain excellent relationships with the client
  • Work with the Chef and management team in creating nutritious and top-quality food for the students
  • Implement new culinary programs in conjunction with the Company marketing and culinary teams
  • Act as a liaison between the Company, Client, and the community

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in Food Services Technology/Management or related field; or A.A. Degree plus four years of directly related experience preferred
  • Five to seven years of direct foodservice operational management experience with inventory and purchasing knowledge and control
  • Strong knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
  • Previous P&L accountability or contract-managed service experience is desirable
  • Strong supervisory, leadership, management, and coaching skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to communicate on various levels to include management, client, customer, and associate levels
  • Excellent financial, budgetary, accounting, and computational skills
  • Proficient computer skills to include various computer programs, Microsoft Office programs, e-mail, and the Internet
  • ServSafe Certified
