Position Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor is tasked with overseeing all maintenance, utility, environmental, and project engineering functions within the facility. This role is crucial in ensuring a dependable manufacturing atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise engineering, maintenance, and utility personnel, ensuring they have the necessary resources and guidance to perform effectively.
- Develop and manage the maintenance and utility budget, while monitoring performance metrics and addressing discrepancies with management.
- Administer the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to guarantee optimal performance and upkeep of production and support equipment.
- Design and implement training programs for maintenance staff to enhance their skills and technical knowledge.
- Coordinate environmental compliance reporting to relevant state and national agencies.
- Oversee plant improvement projects, including construction and repairs, while evaluating the impact of capital additions on maintenance operations.
- Manage the procurement of external contractors when necessary.
- Direct the energy management program for the facility.
- Facilitate training for associates in various maintenance disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
- Assist in diagnosing equipment malfunctions and guide associates in machinery assembly and installation.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and company policies among all associates.
- Propose enhancements to working conditions and equipment usage to boost efficiency.
- Conduct training sessions on specific equipment for department associates.
- Analyze and resolve maintenance-related issues, collaborating with associates and contractors as needed.
- Interpret technical specifications and blueprints for associates and contractors.
- Adjust work procedures to align with project timelines and production schedules.
- Recommend strategies to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Collaborate with management and supervisors to synchronize departmental activities related to maintenance and construction.
- Plan and budget for facility modifications, including cost estimates and contract management.
Additional Duties:
Schedule personnel and project teams, including external contractors, and fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by management. Regularly engage with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with guidelines.
Qualifications:
Applicants should possess a BS Degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience. A minimum of ten years in maintenance and engineering roles is preferred.
Work Environment:
This position requires spending significant time in a manufacturing setting, which may involve exposure to cold and wet conditions, as well as a controlled office environment.
