About the Role

Benchmark Human Services is seeking a highly skilled Licensed Behavioral Health Clinician to join our team. As a key member of our Active Consulting Team, you will provide direct services and support to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and/or mental health diagnoses in crisis or at risk of inpatient placement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical recommendations and training to participating providers, caregivers, family members, and others involved in the individual's care and treatment.
  • Assist providers with development, implementation, and monitoring of Person-Centered Plans, Behavior Support Plans, Mental Health Treatment Plans, and Crisis Safety Plans.
  • Complete agency and individual assessments to guide subsequent clinical interventions.
  • Serve as a member of the Active Consulting Team.
  • Participate in provider wraparound or consultation meetings by reporting assessment results and offering rationale for best practice recommendations in areas of expertise.
  • Facilitate referrals quickly to prevent escalation of crisis.
  • Establish formal and informal collaboration with provider agencies, payers, project, and community stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain record-keeping functions; integration with EHR and other applicable data systems.
  • Complete necessary documentation in a timely manner to facilitate reimbursement through primary funding sources.
  • Develop and implement safety plans as appropriate.
  • Report any suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation in accordance with state rules and regulations and company policy.
  • Provide clinical supervision to mental health practitioners, interns, and individuals requiring postgraduate licensure per state statutes.
  • Develop content and deliver in-person or virtual training to IDD/BH providers and community members on best practice crisis prevention measures.
Requirements
  • Current California Licensure as LCSW or LPC.
  • Maintain professional license in good standing with applicable licensing board(s).
  • Valid BLS CPR and Basic First Aid certification.
  • Crisis de-escalation verbal skills and physical management training certificate, i.e., Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) certification.
  • Two years' experience providing case management services to individuals with IDD and/or Behavioral Health diagnoses.
  • Valid driver's license and auto insurance.
  • Must be computer literate.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Fluent bilingual speaker in one or more of the following languages: English/Spanish; English/Mandarin; English/Korean; English/Tagalog.
  • Two years' experience working with individuals diagnosed with IDD and behavioral health diagnoses.
  • Experience working with individuals in crisis in community settings, i.e., residence, school, jobsite, etc.
  • Working knowledge of the California DDS, MHSD, and Regional Centers service systems.
