Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled LPN to join our OBGYN team at Kaiser Permanente. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting our clinicians in providing exceptional service to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for office visits by ensuring all necessary tests and information are ready for review by clinicians.
  • Perform focused nursing assessments and triage on routine medical conditions, recognizing when to defer to or assist with comprehensive assessments.
  • Utilize standardized tools to identify and address health maintenance gaps with patients and alert clinicians to those requiring attention.
  • Recognize signs and symptoms of common medical conditions and implement planned nursing interventions as delegated by clinicians.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized patient plans of care under the direction of clinicians.
  • Prepare patients for exams and procedures, ensuring exam rooms are equipped with necessary supplies and equipment.
  • Provide health education and advice on routine medical conditions, procedures, and tests.
  • Document all pertinent data and outcomes of nursing care in electronic medical records.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Practical Nurse License (Washington) within 6 months of hire or Compact License: Practical Nurse within 6 months of hire.
  • Practical Nurse License (Oregon) within 6 months of hire.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Demonstrated clinical nursing skills, interpersonal and customer service skills, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently under pressure.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2+) years of nursing experience in an ambulatory care setting.
  • IV therapy experience or recent certification.
  • Familiarity with documenting in an electronic medical record system.
