About the Role

Cedarhurst Senior Living is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Aide to join our team at our Cedarhurst of Topeka community. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in promoting the health, well-being, and independence of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct resident care services, including medication distribution and administration, under the supervision of the Director of Nursing.
  • Conduct resident evaluations and assessments as required by state standards and facility policy.
  • Monitor residents for changes in condition and report any concerns to the supervisor and/or Executive Director.
  • Assist with completing and maintaining individualized care plans for each resident.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary resident care meetings and provide timely interventions as needed.
  • Check and record vital signs, weights, and blood sugars as assigned.
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, oral care, toileting, dressing, and transfers.
  • Participate in the oversight and management of the medication delivery system, including timely order entry, receipt, and tracking.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED and current state certification as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and/or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • At least one year of related work experience in senior care, preferably with a general knowledge of laws and restrictions regarding Assisted Living care.
  • Ability to work well with others, take direction from management, and take initiative to ensure resident needs are met.
  • Must be able to meet all physical demands of the job, including lifting/moving up to 50lbs independently and up to 200lbs with assistance.
