Job Summary:

Leona Group Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate Long Term Substitute Science Teacher to join our team. As a substitute teacher, you will play a vital role in managing student learning in the absence of the regular teacher, in accordance with the goals and directives of the school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain a positive learning environment for all students and a professional relationship with all staff in accordance with school policy.
  • Ensure adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.
  • Implement lesson plans, while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner which motivates students to learn and participate.

Requirements:
  • Education equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Candidate must hold a valid Arizona Substitute Certificate or Arizona Teaching Certificate.
  • IVP Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Physical Requirements:
Positions in this class typically require: stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions. Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, odors, chemicals, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, and intense noises.
