Staff Psychiatrist, Correctional Facility

We are seeking a skilled psychiatrist to join our team as a Staff Psychiatrist, Correctional Facility (Safety). This is a unique opportunity to work in a correctional setting, providing mental health services to individuals in need. As a Staff Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for assessing and treating patients with various mental health conditions, working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments of patients to identify mental health needs and develop treatment plans
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions to patients, utilizing evidence-based practices and techniques
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, social workers, and counselors, to ensure comprehensive care
- Develop and implement treatment plans, including medication management and behavioral interventions
- Document patient progress and treatment outcomes in a timely and accurate manner
- Board certification in psychiatry from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN) or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry (AOBNP)
- Current licensure to practice medicine in California
- Experience working in a correctional setting, preferably with a focus on mental health services
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
