Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Claims Specialist to join our team at Ozark Anesthesia Associates, Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the entire claims process from submission to payment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Calls insurance companies to determine the status of outstanding accounts and negotiate payments.
  • Prepares, reviews, and transmits claims using medical billing software to ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • Verifies payment accuracy and resolves discrepancies with insurance companies as needed.
  • Sends necessary documentation to support claim submissions.
  • Submits claims to secondary insurance providers after receiving payment from primary carriers.
  • Researches and appeals denied claims.
  • Communicates with patients regarding account information and collects outstanding balances.
  • Runs monthly reports on outstanding accounts receivable.
  • Prepares Worker's Compensation disputes for attorney review and submission.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in medical billing or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Able to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with medical billing software and ability to learn new systems quickly.
