Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Care Specialist to join our team at Central Ohio Primary Care Physicians. As a key member of our clinical care team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our providers in providing the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the clinical care team to deliver high-quality patient care and optimize outcomes.
  • Foster a collaborative and communicative environment, ensuring seamless communication between the care team, patients, and caregivers.
  • Collaborate with other care team members to address gaps in care and promote improved clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.
  • Act as a patient advocate, ensuring the highest quality of care and promoting patient-centered care.
  • Perform routine medical procedures, including setting up medical equipment, administering injections, and collecting specimens.
  • Responsible for vaccine administration, storage, handling, and documentation.
  • Interview patients regarding medical concerns and obtain medical history, measuring and recording vital signs as needed.
  • Responsible for blood draws and specimen processing, assisting in performing routine medical procedures as requested.
  • Prepare patients and treatment rooms for exams, reviewing physician orders and lab requests as needed.
  • Communicate test results to patients, assist in patient education, and respond to patient phone calls as appropriate.
  • Maintain a clean and well-organized work area, adhering to HIPAA regulations and maintaining patient confidentiality.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Practical Nurse Licensed in the State of Ohio preferred.
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program or equivalent clinical background/training preferred.
  • MA certification, State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or Phlebotomist certification preferred.
  • Self-disciplined, energetic, passionate, and innovative individual with excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, react calmly in emergency situations, and interpret guidelines and procedures.
