School Administrative Officer

Role Summary
The School Operations Officer is a key role in the daily operations of the school, responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the college. This includes managing the daily organisation of the college, coordinating activities, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and be responsible for the daily organisation of the college
- Coordinate daily organisation of the school's activities, including replacement or covering of staff using the EdVAL software to best utilise available Human Resources
- Assist and coordinate daily organisation of all school activities, including ensuring that all classes and yard duties are covered
- Liaise with event organisers regarding the staffing of excursions, incursions, camps, professional learning seminars, and other school activities
- Employ casual relief teachers (CRTs) and replacement ES staff when required and liaise with the business manager regarding relevant HR requirements
- Maintain an accurate record of extras and replacements taken by teachers and generate reports for the principal team as requested
- Liaise with the principal team when daily org/staffing issues arise
Student Attendance
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student attendance records using the school's attendance management system
- Monitor and follow up on student absences, including contacting parents and guardians as necessary
- Generate and analyse attendance reports, identifying patterns and areas of concern
- Support the tiered response to student attendance with high levels of fidelity
Other Responsibilities
- Provide administration support as required
- Other duties as requested by the principal team and business manager
Requirements
- Individuals with the aptitude, experience, and/or qualifications to fulfill the specific requirements of the position
Working Arrangements
The successful candidate will be required to work Monday to Friday during the school term, from 7:00am to 3:06pm each day. The position will require the successful candidate to commence three working days prior to the commencement of the school year in January, each year.
Our School
Walcom Ngarrwa Secondary College is a new school that opened for students at the start of the 2024 school year. We are located in the Harpley Estate in Frome Cr, Werribee, which is 31km west of the Melbourne CBD. We commenced this year with 176 Year 7 students and we will be adding a new year level, each year until we cater for students in Year 7-12. We anticipate a peak enrolment of students at our college.
