Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced CAT Scan Technologist to join our team at Crescent City Recruitment Group. As a CAT Scan Technologist, you will be responsible for performing routine and special procedure imaging, preparing patients for procedures, and assisting radiologists. You will also be responsible for preparing, operating, and caring for the equipment being used, processing images and CDs when needed, and adhering to established radiology standards of care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and special procedure imaging using CAT scan equipment
  • Prepare patients for procedures and assist radiologists as needed
  • Prepare, operate, and care for equipment being used
  • Process images and CDs when needed
  • Adhere to established radiology standards of care
  • Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others
  • Assume responsibility for assigned areas and duties
  • Adhere to hospital-wide customer service programs
  • Perform other duties as assigned, such as quality assurance
Requirements
  • Graduate of an allied health education and accredited radiography school or hospital-based program
  • NY State DOH Licensure or Limited Permit required
  • ARRT registered (RT) and radiograph (R) and or (CT) certified and / or NMTCB registered (CNMT)
  • Documented training and experience in operating CT equipment and radiation physics and protection
  • Passing advanced CT examination/certification within 1 year from date of hire
  • Continuing education requirements need to be upheld to meet the standards set forth by governing bodies
  • DOH IV certification preferred or by completion of 6-month orientation
  • BLS certification through the (AHA) American Heart Association is required or must be completed within 90 days of hire
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize tasks effectively. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will be able to communicate effectively with patients, radiologists, and other healthcare professionals.

This position requires the ability to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. The successful candidate will be able to work in a team environment and to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
