Summer Internship in Process Improvement and Automated Systems

About the Role

Navy Federal Credit Union is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Process Improvement and Automated Systems team as a Summer Associate. This 12-week internship program will provide the selected candidate with the opportunity to work on impactful projects and gain hands-on experience in software development, process optimization, and Lean Six Sigma.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with junior and senior developers to design, develop, and implement automated solutions for the Savings and Membership Department
  • Participate in peer code review sessions and contribute to the improvement of the team's code quality
  • Perform research and analysis to identify areas for process improvement and develop solutions to address these areas
  • Develop and maintain solution documentation to ensure clarity and transparency
  • Become familiar with Navy Federal Credit Union's systems and processes
  • Collaborate with teammates across the enterprise to achieve common goals

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Knowledge of application development, including determining, developing, testing, and implementing
  • Familiarity with designing, coding, and debugging applications
  • Strong planning and time management skills
  • Ability to analyze and organize problems or work processes for technical solutions
  • Ability to apply innovative approaches to solve technical design issues
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
