Assistant Vice President of Risk Management

UNIFY Talent Acquisition is seeking a seasoned risk management professional to lead our risk management and fraud prevention efforts.
This role will oversee operational risk, card fraud, and fraud mitigation, ensuring the protection of our members and the integrity of our financial transactions.
We are looking for someone who will bring strategic and subject matter expertise to the organization, with a strong understanding of industry regulations and best practices.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in risk management, fraud prevention, and financial services, with a proven track record of developing and implementing effective risk management strategies.
This is a dynamic leadership role that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional departments and stakeholders.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and communicating risk management and fraud prevention strategies, providing strategic guidance and data-backed reports to the executive team and board of directors, and collaborating with department heads to integrate risk management practices into operational processes.
Key responsibilities will include developing and executing risk mitigation plans, fraud prevention programs, and control strategies, as well as overseeing end-to-end payment operations and ensuring compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for providing coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members, and ensuring full compliance with UNIFY's Service Standards, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and communicate risk management and fraud prevention strategies.
- Provide strategic guidance and data-backed reports to the executive team and board of directors.
- Collaborate with department heads to integrate risk management practices into operational processes.
- Develop and execute risk mitigation plans, fraud prevention programs, and control strategies.
- Oversee end-to-end payment operations and ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for team members.
- Ensure full compliance with UNIFY's Service Standards, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in risk management, fraud prevention, and financial services.
- Extensive experience in payment operations within the banking or financial services industry.
- Strong knowledge of payment systems, regulations, and industry trends.
- Thorough knowledge of industry regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices.
- Exceptional leadership, strategic planning, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis, risk assessment, and problem-solving.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to various stakeholders.
Professional certifications such as Certified Risk Manager (CRM), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) or progress towards achieving certifications preferred.
