Job Overview

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the Records & Data department, including the Mechanical Records Analyst group, UMLER Specialist, AAR/DOT coordinator, Records Supervisor, and Record Clerks.
  • Provide leadership and training to team members, ensuring they meet performance objectives and maintain high standards.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of all regulatory documents and data.
  • Manage the integrity of the AAR Tank Car Integrated Database (TCID) and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Negotiate with regulatory agencies and address discrepancies or inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct research on technical files and support company litigation as needed.
  • Maintain archival and retention requirements for sensitive and confidential documents.
  • Participate in quality projects, Continuous Improvement initiatives, and Responsible Care activities to help the company achieve its strategic goals.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline is preferred, or an Associates/Technical degree with relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in engineering document management or control.
  • Substantial knowledge of tank cars, their components, and associated drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Applications (Outlook, Word, and Excel).
