Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled RN Team Leader PRN to provide oversight of patient care during their shift, ensuring all needs are met. As a resource and support to unit staff, you will facilitate effective communication between nursing staff, physicians, and other departments in relation to patient care.

Job Specifications
  • Education and/or Experience: Current licensure to practice professional nursing in Tennessee, with competent BLS and/or other specialized life support requirements. Healthcare experience is required.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of the scope of the registered nurse, license practical nurse, and nursing assistants. Ability to apply the nursing process, infection control procedures, safety precautions, and techniques involved in administering routine medications and/or treatments to patients.
  • Skills: Patient Assessment, Individualized Care planning, Critical thinking skills, Excellent Customer service, Active listening
  • Abilities: Ability to communicate clearly with patients, families, visitors, healthcare team, physicians, administrators, leadership, and others. Ability to demonstrate emotional maturity, establish and maintain effective working relationships, and independently seek out resources and work collaboratively.
Responsibilities
  • Assess nursing needs of acute and chronically ill patients and their families.
  • Teach patients and families in accordance with the individualized nursing care plan.
  • Use sensory and cognitive functions to process and prioritize information, treatment, and follow-up.
  • Document and communicate pertinent information using computer and/or paper documentation tools.
  • Think critically and problem-solve while remaining focused and organized in a stressful and fast-paced environment.
Requirements
  • Current licensure to practice professional nursing in Tennessee.
  • Competent in BLS and/or other specialized life support requirements.
  • Healthcare experience.
