Job Overview

Barkan Management Company, a leading property management firm, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Operations Supervisor to oversee maintenance responsibilities for a 60-unit property in Newton, MA.

About the Role

The Maintenance Operations Supervisor will be responsible for fostering a dynamic community environment, ensuring consistent owner satisfaction, and delivering outstanding customer service reviews. They will cultivate and maintain strong relationships with residents, employees, and vendors, negotiating and coordinating services/contracts necessary for the operation of the property.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fostering a dynamic community environment through effective communication and problem-solving
  • Cultivating and maintaining strong relationships with residents, employees, and vendors
  • Negotiating and coordinating services/contracts necessary for the operation of the property
  • Scheduling and performing service request responses in a timely manner
  • Scheduling, performing, or supervising unit turns, cycle painting, and preventative maintenance programs
  • Purchasing and maintaining current, accurate inventories of supplies and materials
  • Scheduling, performing, or supervising site janitorial work and ground work
  • Completing daily/weekly building and site inspections; scheduling all necessary work

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • At least three years' experience in various maintenance areas including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general building operations
  • Previous customer service experience
  • Ability to supervise and direct third-party vendors and contractors
  • Good organizational and planning skills
  • General computer knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Experience with Yardi software is preferred
