Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our Ambulatory Pharmacy team at AmerisourceBergen Drug Corporation. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our pharmacy services, working closely with pharmacists and other healthcare professionals to provide exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Obtain and review patient clinical and prescription plan coverage information
  • Enter new prescription and existing prescription information into the pharmacy information system
  • Address insurance, reimbursement, and payment issues with insurance providers, patients, and pharmacists
  • Participate in achieving business goals and metrics for the Ambulatory Pharmacy
  • Retrieve and prepare medication for pharmacist review and verification
  • Prepare inventory reports for pharmacist review and purchase
  • Submit, receive, and place inventory in stock
  • Answer inbound telephone calls and triage calls to the appropriate staff
  • Assist with reviews and handling of adjudicated prescription claims
  • Provide required information for therapeutic consults with patients
  • Intervene with Pharmacy Benefit Manager Companies to resolve plan and patient-specific adjudication issues
  • Supply and monitor ambulatory dispensing robotic technology
  • Deliver medications and pharmaceutical supplies to patients as outlined by the concierge prescription program
Requirements
  • Normally requires a minimum of two (2) years directly related and progressively responsible ambulatory pharmacy experience; bachelor's degree program preferred
  • Pharmacy technician certification with a national technical certification organization, such as Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or other comparable national certification required
  • State pharmacy certification is acceptable if core competencies are equal to or better than national certification requirements
