Position Overview:

The Mortgage Loan Assistant is a vital member of our team, responsible for supporting loan originators in assembling comprehensive loan applications for submission. This role encompasses both Lead to Contract and Contract to Close responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead to Contract Duties:
  • Serve as the primary liaison for customer interactions related to licensed activities, assisting the loan officer.
  • Facilitate appointment scheduling for prospective and current applicants.
  • Ensure timely follow-up on new leads, maintaining a robust conversion rate.
  • Manage the calendar and confirm appointments for the loan originator.
  • Provide administrative support by overseeing various client databases and sending pre-qualification links.
  • Assist in gathering accurate loan application information.
  • Evaluate customer credit and financial situations to recommend suitable loan products.
  • Conduct credit checks and prepare necessary documentation.
  • Stay informed about company programs and software, implementing new systems as needed.
  • Support marketing efforts by coordinating and distributing promotional materials.
  • Oversee compliance-approved email marketing initiatives.
Contract to Close Duties:
  • Track critical dates related to loan transactions and respond accordingly.
  • Distribute loan forms and documents to clients for completion and signature.
  • Maintain and update the loan originator's database.
  • Provide ongoing customer support throughout the loan application process.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of loan applications with required documentation.
  • Order necessary verification documents as needed.
  • Review closing documents to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Support the underwriting process and assist in resolving any issues.
  • Communicate updates to referral sources while adhering to privacy policies.
  • Address customer inquiries regarding loan status.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Act as a key point of contact for customers, ensuring they are informed throughout the process.
  • Provide accurate pricing information and communicate fees effectively.
  • Maintain strong relationships with referral sources through prompt communication.
  • Prepare and send appreciation notes to clients and referral partners.
  • Gather necessary documentation for pre-approval processes.
  • Discuss product features and options with customers.
  • Perform other assigned duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with a minimum of two years of experience in mortgage lending or a related field.
  • Active MLO licensing is required.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively with strong attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated urgency and responsiveness in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in data entry and familiarity with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ethical and aligned with company values.
Work Environment:
  • Primarily sedentary work in an office setting.
  • Regular use of computer equipment.
  • Office environment with minimal exposure to adverse conditions.
