About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Texas Health Mansfield. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in the treatment, management, and care of patients with respiratory deficiencies and abnormalities.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality respiratory care services through accurate interpretation of physician orders and implementation of various modes of therapeutic and diagnostic cardiopulmonary procedures.
  • Review physician orders for respiratory care services to ensure proper patient identification, appropriateness, accuracy, and safety of therapy.
  • Actively participate in the direction and selection of treatment modalities by communicating pertinent information to medical and nursing staff.
  • Respond to "Stat" and emergency calls within 5 minutes of time initiated.
  • Review patients' charts at least once a shift to assess response to treatment and to ensure progress toward therapeutic goals.
  • Accurately assess and describe breath sounds through the use of a stethoscope.
  • Perform routine therapeutic procedures, such as arterial blood sampling and analysis, humidity and aerosol therapy, updraft, CPT, IPPB, and various critical care skills, in accordance with scheduled guidelines established by physician order and state regulatory agencies.
  • Perform and document quality control of blood gas lab each shift according to established guidelines.
Requirements
  • Two years of training from an AMA-approved school of Respiratory Care.
  • Current Respiratory Care Practitioner Certification from the Texas Department of Health.
  • Current Registered Respiratory Therapist License with NBRC.
