Job Summary / Requirements for Respiratory Therapist CRT / RRT

Reporting to the Medical Director of Respiratory Care Services and the Department Director, the Respiratory Care Provider (RCP) will deliver Respiratory Care Services according to physician orders and departmental policies. Responsibilities include adhering to the Respiratory Care Scope of Services. Candidates must be NRP certified, possess Basic Life Support certification, and have skills in emergency intubation for all age groups. The role requires legible writing, extensive walking, bending, and stooping, as well as assisting patients in chairs, carts, and hospital beds. The position also involves lifting equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds and working long hours without guaranteed meal breaks. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to ongoing self-development and education are essential.

Qualifications for Respiratory Therapist
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Therapy program.
  • NBRC certified Respiratory Technician or NBRC Registered Therapist with a license from the Ohio Respiratory Care Board.
  • Current State of Ohio Respiratory Therapist license.
  • Successful completion of Neonatal Resuscitation certification.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Preferred: Three or more years of comprehensive experience in cardiopulmonary services.
