Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Surgical Specialty Navigator to join our team at Guthrie. As a key member of our surgical services team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical guidance and support to surgical staff, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective surgical care plans.
  • Supervise and mentor surgical technicians and other support staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Participate in performance improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing evidence-based solutions.
  • Develop and maintain accurate preference lists for surgeons, ensuring timely and efficient access to necessary equipment and supplies.
  • Assist with inventory management, ensuring optimal use of resources and minimizing waste.
  • Collaborate with the Operating Room Inventory Control Manager to achieve cost containment and improve patient care.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited Licensed Practical Nursing program or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years clinical experience in surgical technology or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with surgeons, staff, and patients.
  • Ability to travel to other Guthrie Clinic offices and participate in on-call schedules.
