About the Role

Bausch + Lomb, a leading global eye health company, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Ocular Specialty Field Sales Representative to join our dynamic regional sales team. Reporting to the Area Business Leader, this role will support our innovative dry eye, glaucoma, and expansive portfolio of products, covering a critical geography in the region.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a territory business plan based on opportunities for our portfolio of products and strategic direction provided by the home office.
  • Drive territory performance by growing prescribing and market share.
  • Stay up-to-date on managed care coverage of products and effectively communicate updates to healthcare providers.
  • Utilize clinical selling techniques to bring value and influence customer thinking about treatment and patient management, including:
    • Managing promotional budget and determining expenditures on promotional activities within the business plan.
    • Visiting ophthalmologists and optometrists based on an established call plan and independent assessment of prescription activity and potential growth.
    • Utilizing available samples within FDA guidelines to maximize impact with promotional audiences.
Qualifications
  • BA/BS or equivalent amount of experience.
  • 3+ years of specialty pharmaceutical sales experience with a proven track record of success.
  • Required residence in the territory geography.
  • Knowledge of ophthalmology preferred.
  • Demonstrated competency with studies/clinical reprints and other third-party proof sources.
  • Proven PC skills required (Microsoft tools); Computer systems: People soft, GBS, email, and other administration.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business trade journals, professional journals, and financial reports, as well as write reports, business correspondence, and standard operating procedures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills necessary.
  • Valid driver's license to travel to customer locations.
  • Some overnight travel will be required.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.

  • Continued knowledge development and maintenance of market trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve annual target incentive.
  • Candidate should bring value to the customer while having accountability for results.
  • Skilled in strategic selling with a desire to assist others with success.
  • Ability to work independently and without direct daily supervision and limited supervision overall.
  • Ability to work within a team to develop and implement effective marketing and promotional strategies.

Bausch + Lomb is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from diverse candidates. For U.S. locations that require disclosure of compensation, the starting pay for this role is between $100,000.00 and $130,000.00. The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors. U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/or long-term incentives, medical, dental, vision insurance, disability and life insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, a tuition reimbursement program (select degrees), company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive sick time, floating holidays, and paid vacation.
