Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to join our team at Unreal Gigs. This role is responsible for managing and optimizing databases to ensure data integrity, security, and performance.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have 3+ years of experience in database administration, with a proven track record of managing and optimizing databases in production environments. They will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining database architectures that are scalable, secure, and aligned with business needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Database Management and Optimization: Manage, monitor, and maintain the health of production and development databases, ensuring they are optimized for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Backup and Recovery: Implement robust backup and recovery strategies to ensure data is recoverable in the event of failures or disasters.
  • Security and Access Management: Ensure database security by implementing strong access controls, encryption, and compliance measures.
  • Performance Tuning and Query Optimization: Analyze and optimize database performance by monitoring query execution, identifying bottlenecks, and making adjustments to improve response times.
Requirements
  • Database Management Expertise: Strong experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis.
  • Performance Optimization: Expertise in query optimization, indexing, and database performance tuning to ensure efficient and fast data retrieval.
  • Security and Compliance: Solid understanding of database security best practices, including access controls, encryption, and regulatory compliance.
  • Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automating routine database tasks.
