Job Title: Patient Relations Specialist

Job Summary:

The Patient Relations Specialist serves as a key liaison between patients, families, visitors, and hospital staff. This role is responsible for ensuring patients understand hospital policies, procedures, and services, and for resolving complaints and grievances in a timely and effective manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Investigate and resolve patient complaints and grievances in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families regarding patient rights and hospital policies.
  • Collaborate with hospital staff to identify and address system-related problems that impact patient satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve patient satisfaction and reduce complaints.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to patient relations.
  • Provide emotional support to patients, families, and staff during difficult situations.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports related to patient complaints and grievances.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Certificate in Patient Advocacy or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

The Patient Relations Specialist must be able to maintain a professional demeanor and provide excellent customer service in all interactions with patients, families, and staff.
