Job Summary

Southwest Human Development Inc is seeking a skilled Mental Health Specialist to provide counseling services to parents whose babies have recently transitioned home from the NICU.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized counseling services to parents in a postpartum setting.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with clients.
  • Conduct biopsychosocial assessments and provide therapeutic interventions.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services.
  • Develop and maintain positive professional relationships with community health agencies.
  • Report suspected or actual child abuse/neglect to the Department of Child Safety Protective Services or local law enforcement agency.
Requirements
  • Must hold a licensed eligible degree from the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners as a Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, or Independent Social Worker.
  • Experience in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of adults.
  • Experience working with economically disadvantaged and/or culturally diverse populations.
  • Fluent in oral and written English is required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) oral and written fluency preferred.
  • Certification in infant/toddler first aid and CPR is required.
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Divers License and auto Insurance
  • Valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card – OR - must qualify for a valid Arizona Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card.
