Responsibilities

Summary: Manage and enhance production workflows within the manufacturing facilities. A strong engineering background, meticulous attention to detail, and the capability to optimize production workflows for peak efficiency are essential. This role involves overseeing the contributions of vendors and contractors to ensure successful project completion.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: This is a full-time position requiring a minimum of 40 hours per week on-site.

  • Enhance manufacturing workflows by analyzing product specifications and production methods.
  • Lead investigations into quality and production challenges.
  • Develop corrective action plans and assess their effectiveness.
  • Boost production efficiency by collaborating with the production team to identify and eliminate waste.
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes through research programs, applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials.
  • Design and improve manufacturing processes by studying product requirements and collaborating with equipment vendors.
  • Optimize manufacturing efficiency by planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Ensure product and process quality by designing testing methods and confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Provide insights for manufacturing decisions by calculating production, labor, and material costs.
  • Compile product and process reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintain product and company reputation by adhering to government regulations.
  • Ensure equipment functionality by coordinating maintenance and repair services.
  • Complete design and development projects by mentoring technicians.
  • Refine work methods and procedures to eliminate operational issues and enhance product quality.
  • Troubleshoot and collaborate with Maintenance to resolve issues.
  • Adhere to budget constraints.
  • Comply with all company policies regarding safety and operational procedures.
  • Exhibit strong written, verbal, and facilitation skills.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement.

Supervisory Responsibilities: In the absence of the supervisor or department head, oversee employee activities, ensuring teamwork and adherence to protocols while meeting production deadlines. Guide vendors and contractors in project completion, focusing on costs, schedules, quality, safety, and environmental considerations. Provide necessary training to uphold safety and quality assurance standards.

Qualifications

Education and Experience: A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Engineering Technology is required, along with a minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience in an industrial manufacturing environment; or an equivalent combination of related education and experience. A strong mechanical inclination and process-oriented mindset are essential.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Windows, MS Office applications, and AutoCAD software.

Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents, financial reports, and company policies. Capable of preparing business correspondence and detailed reports. Ability to respond to inquiries from customers and regulatory agencies effectively.

Mathematical Skills: Proficient in applying advanced mathematical concepts and performing complex calculations.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions. Capable of applying logical or scientific principles to a wide range of problems.

Supervisory Skills: Ability to work with diverse teams and motivate individuals to take ownership of their work.

Other Skills and Abilities: Must possess strong mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system design and troubleshooting skills. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Inventor is required.
