The Head Chef is responsible for designing camp menus, sourcing ingredients, and preparing meals for campers. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and plan nutritious menus.
  • Manage food procurement and budgetary allocations.
  • Ensure timely delivery of food supplies.
  • Prepare meals for campers, including outdoor cooking events.
  • Supervise kitchen staff and volunteers.
  • Maintain cleanliness and compliance with health regulations in the kitchen and dining areas.
  • Monitor food storage conditions and inventory.
  • Keep accurate records for future menu planning.
  • Provide reports to the camp director as required.
  • Participate in pre-camp training sessions.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support camp objectives.

Qualifications:

Applicants must possess a current Safe Serve Certification and have training in food service management. A strong background in menu planning and cooking for large groups is essential, along with knowledge of nutrition principles.

Skills and Experience:

  • Ability to operate food service equipment safely.
