Solar Origination Specialist

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Solar Origination Analyst to join our team at New Columbia Solar. As a key member of our sales team, you will play a critical role in driving business growth through early-stage customer acquisition.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and evaluate new business opportunities in the DC and MD markets, focusing on solar development on buildings, parking lots, and other open spaces.
  • Develop and execute strategies to initiate conversations with property owners, including cold calls, email campaigns, partnerships, and community outreach.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Development Manager to pitch new lead generation ideas and initiatives, with a focus on reducing customer acquisition costs.
  • Build relationships within the community and work with our marketing team to develop targeted customer engagement strategies.
  • Drive consistent engagement with a variety of potential customers across multiple business types.
  • Report progress to the Sales Development Manager and Sales Operations Manager, utilizing HubSpot CRM to track work product.
  • Convert leads into actionable meetings and opportunities for Account Executives.
  • Provide customers with preliminary deal structuring and ballpark economics (training will be provided).


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communication skills with attention to detail and organization.
  • Positive attitude with a passion for solar energy development and a desire to help proliferate solar in Washington, DC and beyond.
  • Experience in sales, real estate, and/or energy is a plus.


This is a four-day a week onsite position with the option to work remotely on Fridays.
