Cold Production Line Management Specialist

Job Summary:
Huff Consulting seeks a seasoned Cold Production Line Management Specialist to oversee daily operations at our frozen fruit and vegetable co-packing facility in Oxford, NC. As a key member of our team, you will lead production line activities, ensuring efficient packing into consumer retail bags while maintaining quality, safety, and productivity standards.
About the Role:
- Operational Supervision: Lead and oversee line operations, from staging frozen bulk ingredients to packing into retail-ready bags, ensuring efficiency and minimal waste. Supervise and coordinate the activities of production line workers, ensuring production targets are met on time and within budget.
- Staff Management: Schedule, motivate, and train line operators and packers, fostering a positive team environment focused on quality and safety. Manage shift schedules and assign tasks to ensure adequate coverage and efficient use of resources.
- Quality Control: Monitor all stages of packing to ensure products meet stringent quality standards. Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any quality issues. Work with the quality control team to implement and maintain quality assurance procedures.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce compliance with facility safety, health, and environmental policies, as well as food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, SQF, FSMA). Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Production Planning and Inventory Management: Work closely with the Plant Manager and Warehouse Manager to optimize production. Follow daily production schedules and manage workflow. Maintain accurate records of production activities and communicate any concerns or suggestions to the Plant Manager.
Requirements:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelors degree in a related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a production or supervisory role, preferably within food manufacturing or frozen food co-packing.
- Knowledge: Understanding of food safety standards (HACCP, FSMA), familiarity with frozen food handling, and previous experience in packaging operations.
- Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills; ability to manage a team effectively and foster a collaborative environment.
Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience.
