Key Responsibilities- Design and present solutions and options that improve patient care, enhance patient engagement, and improve operational efficiency.
- Analyze and troubleshoot systems, including testing and documenting Epic applications.
- Understand system options and configurations completely and suggest and lead teams through decisions on the best way to configure and utilize the system.
- Act as a subject matter expert in design, configuration, and building one or more technologies of moderate to high complexity.
- Deliver project assignments of medium to high complexity, including application design, and configuration build.
- Work closely with customers to document requirements and communicate effectively with customers and peers to implement changes.
- Support and maintain day-to-day existing functionality/programs/applications.
- Perform intermediate system analysis and troubleshooting to implement new functionality/programs/applications, and to analyze/research vendor release notes and documentation.
- Create thorough system design and build documentation.
- Analyze the functionality of the system and how it fits or not with operations.
- Translate high-level business requirements to detailed technical designs/documentation.
- Collaborate with other analysts, staff, vendors, and leadership.
- Meet with department heads and executives on a routine basis to identify and prioritize their needs.
- Lead application management activities for a single functional area to achieve project objectives.
- Manage product lifecycle management, end-user enhancement requests of moderate to high complexity, and technical aspects of the modules/applications that are assigned.
- Assist in identifying any barriers to adoption of clinical practice.
- Perform a variety of tasks to support the organizational initiatives.
- Facilitate performance improvement for the effective use of information technology.
- Support business/clinical operations with clinical and financial end-users.
- Support continued system maintenance and optimization.
- On-call coverage (after business hours and weekends) is required, on a rotational basis or as-needed.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field; 4 years of equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
- 2 years of relevant experience required in one of the following areas: Clinical, operational, application support, and implementation.
- Development experience with applications in a hospital or medical-related industry is required.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting hardware and software.
- Experience working with project life cycle or project management methodologies is required.
- Advanced understanding and comfort leading business and technology partners through a structured deployment and/or implementation life cycle and support model.
- EPIC certification for the area in which you support (in primary application) is required or required within 4 months of employment.
- Ongoing maintenance of Epic certification(s) required.
- Strong business or clinical acumen.
- Strong communication, presentation, interpersonal, and rapport-building skills.
- Able to get things done and escalate issues to the decision-makers as necessary.
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to handle multiple projects, multiple (and sometimes conflicting) priorities, and adapt to change.
- Strong customer service skills required.
- Strong analytical skills, detail orientation, ability to troubleshoot, be proactive.
- Demonstrates qualities of assertiveness, a high sense of urgency, initiative (self-starter), effective communication skills, including presentation skills, facilitation skills, and a positive attitude.
