Business Analyst/Scrum Master


Hybrid, 4 days a week onsite in Englewood, CO


Optomi, in partnership with a leader in the telecommunications space, is seeking a Business Analyst/Scrum Master to join the team in Englewood, Colorado The right candidate will have 2-4 years of experience as a Business Analyst with experience leading scrum ceremonies in a agile environment. The ideal candidate will have worked with JIRA and be eager to learn


Experience of the right candidate:

  • 2-4 years of experience as a Business Analyst and/or Scrum Master.
  • Experience with JIRA.
  • Cross-functional collaboration between business and tech teams.


Responsibilities of the right candidate:

  • Reviews, analyzes, and evaluates information technology systems operations. Determines user needs and requirements and recommends ways to improve systems.
  • Serves as primary point of contact between users and engineering/development staff. Identifies, documents, reports, and tracks system issues.
  • Supports the process of translating business needs into formal technical requirement deliverables.
  • There is a requirement that the qualified candidate should have Scrum Master experience to include the ability to track progress and help the team achieve their commitments.
  • Progress is monitored daily when problems are identified work with team to develop corrective actions.
  • Manage and report the status of scope, schedule, and resourcing. Extract and document requirements.
  • Author user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Work with technical team and product owner balancing the interests of both when issues arise.
  • Remove impediments allowing the team to focus on engineering tasks.
  • Take the lead on resolving conflicts within the team removing any roadblocks to collaboration.
  • Guide project team meetings including sprint pre/planning meetings, daily scrum, and sprint review meetings.
  • Facilitate retrospective discussions and support continuous improvement efforts and limit the external interference the team must deal with.
