Position Summary:

Primoris Renewable Energy is in search of a dedicated Procurement Manager to enhance our expanding Procurement division. The Procurement Manager will be responsible for cultivating and nurturing relationships that enable Primoris to secure the most advantageous pricing available in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guarantee the availability of high-quality materials and equipment for the construction team, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and policies to sustain market competitiveness.
  • Establish, uphold, and continuously refine systems and processes within the procurement division.
  • Lead the procurement of significant material categories, including Inverters, Transformers, and DC collection, fostering transparency and ethical practices to develop long-term supplier partnerships.
  • Assist in the collection and analysis of industry and market intelligence.
  • Oversee and enhance the overall performance of the procurement team in line with company policies and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Conduct quarterly Commodity Reviews to identify key market trends and vendor opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Buyers to maintain a Vendor Scorecard for effective feedback within our supplier network.
  • Facilitate the growth and development of the procurement team to enhance organizational capacity.
  • Manage the qualification and selection process for suppliers, focusing on performance enhancement.
  • Lead a team of purchasing agents and buyers through relationship building, negotiation, evaluation, and contract management.
  • Monitor company purchasing activities, product delivery, and compatibility with engineering and construction methodologies.
  • Negotiate favorable terms, volume discounts, and long-term agreements with suppliers for goods and services.
  • Take charge of overall purchasing strategies to fortify a competitive market position.
  • Build strong relationships with project teams to assess the performance of equipment and materials in relation to construction methods.
  • Work alongside the legal team to craft contracts that reflect industry standards, risk profiles, and competitive dynamics.
  • Address defects and delivery issues with suppliers, negotiating solutions that benefit both the company and the supplier's long-term viability.
  • Coordinate with operations, maintenance, warehouse, and engineering teams to ensure effective scheduling and logistics of goods.
  • Maintain supplier performance KPIs and collaborate with suppliers for continuous improvement.
  • Partner with the Logistics Manager to optimize the use of surplus materials.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in Procurement.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) is required.
  • Experience with SAP & Viewpoint is advantageous.
  • Strong skills in developing and adhering to procurement procedures and plans.
  • Excellent negotiation and team-building capabilities.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and provide support to various clients daily.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary (approximately 10-20%).
