Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transportation Manager to join our team at US Foods. As a key member of our Transportation department, you will be responsible for leading a team of drivers and transportation associates to ensure safe and efficient transportation of goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead with a safety-first mindset to ensure the well-being of our associates, customers, and the general public.
  • Oversee and develop drivers and transportation associates through coaching, training, and problem resolution.
  • Ensure all drivers and transportation associates are properly trained in job duties, safety procedures, and legal responsibilities.
  • Direct and supervise the work and productivity of drivers and clerical associates within the Transportation department.
  • Build high-performing teams by participating in interviewing and hiring transportation personnel.
  • Monitor production goals and maintain a zero-error attitude to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction.
  • Identify and stop waste, and improve processes to complete work more safely and efficiently.
Requirements
  • Minimum of three years of experience in transportation/delivery or warehouse distribution.
  • Minimum of one year of experience overseeing a workforce.
  • Experience as a driver a plus.
  • Broad knowledge of transportation/delivery operations, methods, and procedures.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and people development skills.
  • Strong understanding of DOT requirements.
Work Environment

This role may require significant travel, typically for mandatory meetings and/or training. The work environment may involve exposure to noise and vibration levels higher than those typically experienced in passenger cars.
