Logistics Material Handler

The role of a Material Handler involves managing the logistics of pipe lengths for outgoing shipments and verifying incoming products. This position requires collaboration with forklift operators to efficiently load and unload materials from production lines, storage areas, and transport vehicles. Responsibilities may also extend to the construction and maintenance of storage racks and roadways.
As a Material Handler, you will operate large-capacity forklifts to transport oilfield tubulars to and from production lines while meticulously maintaining records of all products handled. Additionally, you will utilize smaller forklifts for material movement within the warehouse, ensuring items are shipped and received accurately. You will conduct cycle counts and assist in inventory management to uphold inventory accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper racking and storage of tubular products in compliance with API standards.
- Maintain optimal positioning of products on storage racks to facilitate efficient loading and unloading.
- Accurately complete inventory documentation and maintain traceability of finished goods.
- Verify pipe stencils during the tallying process and understand components required for orders.
- Keep detailed records of product movements and perform daily equipment maintenance checks.
- Lubricate heavy machinery, recharge batteries, and fill fuel tanks as necessary.
- Conduct physical verification of products moved using tubular movement documents or software.
- Ensure compliance with customer handling and API storage specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized pipe yard and warehouse environment.
- Learn to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inventory materials and supply production lines as required.
- Familiarize yourself with VAM USA Shipping and Receiving Procedures.
- Maximize efficiency and productivity while adhering to company policies and safety regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Logistics & Material Control Supervisor.
Requirements:
- Commitment to Lean and Safety values.

- Observance of safety and security protocols.
- Physical capability to lift 50 lbs and pull 75 lbs.
- Willingness to work in various outdoor weather conditions.
- Successful completion of required testing, including vision and hearing assessments.
Experience, Skills, and Knowledge:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent educational background.
- Preferred: One year of experience in an oilfield tubular yard or warehouse setting.
- Preferred: 1+ years of experience operating heavy and/or lower capacity forklifts.
- Preferred: Forklift training certification.
- Preferred: Familiarity with API storage and handling requirements.
- Preferred: Understanding of 5S methodology.
