About the Role

This per diem/on call position involves traveling to see patients in the Anchorage area. As a Hospice Social Worker, you will provide social work services to patients and their families in various settings, including inpatient, outpatient, education, and home programs.

Under the supervision of the Manager of Hospice and the Hospice Medical Director, you will assist patients and families in coping with the impact of terminal illness on individual and family functioning. This includes finding satisfactory solutions and/or goal adjustments needed to deal with medical, social, emotional, and financial issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Social Work
  • Alaska Masters Social Worker License upon hire or Alaska Clinical Social Worker License upon hire
  • 1 year Medical or bereavement social work experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years of supervised, post-masters experience in a psychiatric or health care setting
