Illuminus is in search of a dedicated and skilled professional with exceptional teamwork and organizational abilities to fill the role of Senior Accountant - Senior Living. This position involves generating reports and delivering financial insights to management through thorough research and analysis of accounting data across various entities.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, tax returns, and cost reports promptly while adhering to US GAAP standards.
- General Ledger Management: Compile and analyze information to create general ledger entries.
- Financial Analysis: Generate balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other relevant reports. Summarize account data and identify trends to support business leaders in their decision-making processes.
- Record Keeping: Maintain precise records to validate financial transactions and comply with record retention policies. Provide necessary documentation to auditors upon request.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile general ledger accounts by gathering and analyzing account data.
- Internal Controls: Ensure financial security by adhering to internal control measures.
- Data Interpretation: Address accounting and financial inquiries by researching and interpreting data.
- Budget Development: Assist in formulating the annual budget and updating financial forecasts for management.
- Process Improvement: Identify, develop, and spearhead initiatives to enhance accounting and finance department processes.
- Asset Management: Maintain records and documentation for fixed assets, including ongoing construction projects. Analyze and report fixed asset data to management.
- Team Support: Provide guidance and training to other Accounting and Business Office team members as a subject matter expert in the accounting systems and IT solutions utilized by the organization.
- Community Engagement: Uphold a positive image of Illuminus within the community, aligning with our mission, vision, and values.
- Effective Communication: Foster and promote effective communication with management, colleagues, residents, and family members/personal representatives.
- Adaptability: Maintain a positive attitude and approach in a dynamic work environment, embracing new technologies and process enhancements.
- Complex Transaction Research: Investigate intricate accounting transactions and comprehend various legal entity structures.
- M&A Support: Assist in the integration and onboarding of new entities through mergers and acquisitions.
- Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as required or assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting; CPA designation preferred.
- A minimum of four years of experience in accounting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with report preparation and general ledger accounting software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment, make sound decisions, and demonstrate flexibility when necessary.
- Collaborative work ethic and willingness to mentor team members.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
