Position Overview: As a Travel Retail Operations Supervisor, you will manage Route Sales Representatives (including Reliefs and hourly Leads) to ensure adherence to Rich's policies and Federal DOT regulations, while delivering exceptional customer service and effective merchandising across all supermarket accounts.

Your role will primarily involve training and developing the route sales team, which includes participating in frequent route rides with RSRs, running routes, conducting market tours, engaging with bakery and store management, and formulating action plans to boost business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead recruitment efforts and hiring of associates for the designated region in collaboration with the Talent Acquisition department.
  • Communicate performance expectations to associates, recognizing and rewarding individual and team achievements while addressing performance issues.
  • Review, approve, and ensure compliance with policies regarding direct reports' travel and expense activities, as well as timekeeping and payroll data.

Maintain efficiency and cost-effectiveness in all aspects of Direct Store Delivery operations in the area.

Relationship Management:
  • Develop and nurture positive relationships with chain operations personnel to enhance distribution, execute market-wide and targeted promotions, improve customer relations, and effectively resolve issues.
  • Ensure all products are sold to appropriate accounts and implement pricing strategies, including promotions, accurately.

Fill in for RSRs as necessary to guarantee uninterrupted, high-quality service to supermarket accounts.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required (preferably in business or a related field).
  • 3+ years of experience in Direct Store Delivery or 5+ years in Grocery or Retail.
  • Valid CDL Class B license preferred (must obtain within 30 days of employment if not otherwise agreed) and a clean driving record.
  • Willingness and ability to travel overnight and out of town up to 75% of the time.
  • Proficient in computer skills, mathematics, and analysis.
  • Maintain DOT medical certification.
  • Ability to perform extended walking between truck-to-store merchandising trips.
  • Regularly enter and exit company vehicles daily (approximately 4 ft above ground to truck cab and/or cargo box); using carts or hand trucks while being mindful of vehicle traffic and powered industrial trucks operated by others inside customer locations.
  • Frequent bending, twisting, turning, squatting, and kneeling while moving and merchandising products.
  • Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
  • Frequent handling of frozen products and exposure to refrigerated walk-in truck/storage temperatures below 0 degrees.
