Position Overview:
The Fresh Seafood Associate will assist the department manager in the daily operations of the seafood section.

This role involves supporting the department manager in executing strategies that enhance customer trust and loyalty by ensuring consistent operational standards, offering fresh and visually appealing products, and delivering knowledgeable and prompt service in a welcoming environment.

Primary Responsibilities & Accountabilities:


1. Assist the department manager in managing inventory levels, maintaining product availability, merchandising, labor management, security, expense control, and other operational processes in accordance with company standards.

2. Collaborate with the manager to meet the performance benchmarks outlined in the operational plan.


3. Aid in communicating and implementing all policies and programs in a positive and timely manner.

4. Ensure effective replenishment, product rotation, and cleanliness of the seafood section.


5. Greet customers, provide assistance, and ensure efficient service while maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor to enhance the company’s image as a customer-focused organization.

6. Address and resolve customer complaints to ensure complete satisfaction.


7. Respond to product inquiries and assist customers in product selection.


8. Uphold company standards regarding safety, food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity; ensure compliance with all federal and state health and safety regulations.

9. Report any incidents of theft, shoplifting, unauthorized markdowns, or property damage to management.


10. Fulfill special customer requests as needed.


11. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

1. Must be at least 18 years of age.

2. High school diploma or equivalent.


3. Proven experience as a team member in the seafood department or one (1) year of experience in supermarkets, retail, restaurants, hotels, or general business.

4. Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.


5. Ability to understand and follow English instructions.


6. Authorization to work in the United States or the ability to obtain the same.


7. Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background check.


Preferred Qualifications:

1. Proven experience as an associate in the seafood department and at least one other department in the store; or two (2) years of demonstrated leadership in the department.
