About the Role

The Behavioral Health Coordinator will provide expert support to families and youth at risk, understanding child behavior and setting up interventions for student success in an out-of-school time environment. This role requires a deep understanding of social, emotional, and behavioral health needs, with expertise in positive behavior guidance and crisis response.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess children's social, emotional, and behavioral health needs, engaging in daily consultation with Site Directors and staff to ensure children's needs are met.
  • Provide on-site support to program staff around positive behavior guidance through observation, training, modeling, and coaching.
  • Respond to child incidents or crises by gathering information, assessing situations, and recommending appropriate resources and supports.
  • Facilitate meetings with parents, families, social workers, mental health counselors, and wrap-around team members.
  • Develop and ensure adherence to afterschool and summer support plans for high-need children.
  • Provide guidance to program leaders on DCF and FKO reporting policies and procedures regarding allegations of child abuse and neglect.
  • Participate in regular communities of practice, attend FKO monthly staff meetings, and professional development sessions.
  • Connect with community organizations to gather resources and build partnerships.
  • Travel between FKO program sites.

Requirements

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Education, Special Education, Psychology, Mental Health, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years' experience supporting school-age children with high needs. A Master's degree is preferred, as is bilingual proficiency in Spanish. The successful candidate must pass a MA EEC Background Record Check and be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Salary Range

$60,000 - $70,000 per year.
