We are seeking a highly qualified Counsel to join our International Trade practice group, working from our Los Angeles, CA office.
Key Responsibilities:- Counsel clients on U.S. export controls matters, with a focus on the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
- Perform jurisdiction and classification analyses, including encryption controls and technology controls
- Draft license applications and Commodity Jurisdiction requests
- Represent clients in voluntary self-disclosures and internal and government investigations related to export control concerns
- Assist with M&A trade due diligence, economic sanctions, and OFAC background checks, as well as national security reviews by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the U.S. (CFIUS) and mitigation of foreign ownership, control, or influence (FOCI mitigation) for cleared U.S. contractors
- 5-7 years of experience in export controls, with a strong understanding of EAR and ITAR regulations
- Excellent analytical, communication, and writing skills
- Membership in the California Bar

The salary range for this position is $320,000 to $355,000, with additional compensation possible through a discretionary bonus. Other benefits include healthcare, vision, dental, retirement, and all-purpose leave.
