Job Description

The University of Findlay is seeking a highly qualified individual for a full-time Assistant Professor position in the Department of Justice Sciences. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in criminal justice, geographic information system analysis (GIS), crime mapping, crime data analysis, and homeland security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate courses in criminal justice, GIS, crime mapping, crime data analysis, and homeland security
  • Develop and maintain an independent research program in criminal justice, GIS, crime mapping, crime data analysis, and homeland security
  • Advise and mentor undergraduate students in research projects
  • Provide service to the university, department, and community
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Geographic Information System Analysis (GIS), Criminal Justice, Criminology, Security Studies, or a closely related field
  • Expertise in GIS, crime mapping, crime data analysis, and homeland security
  • Strong teaching and research skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students, staff, and faculty from diverse backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field with significant tested experience in GIS, crime mapping, crime data analysis, and homeland security
  • Ability to teach in both seated and online modalities
